Beginners/Intermediate
This level is for you who have recently completed a beginner course and still feel fairly new to Balboa. It can also be a great fit if you have danced some Balboa before and want to refresh and strengthen your fundamental skills.
You know the basic patterns and figures, such as throw-outs (toss-outs), swivels, and out-n-ins, and now you’re ready to spend more time getting comfortable with them. We’ll work on making your basics feel smoother and more natural, while exploring different ways to combine and vary them.
As you become more comfortable, you’ll have fun experimenting with your fundamentals at slower tempos and gradually adding some new variations. You don’t need to know lots of moves yet — this level is all about building confidence, improving your connection and technique, and enjoying the dance while continuing to grow your Balboa vocabulary.
If you’re excited to keep learning and want a supportive place to develop your Balboa skills, this level is for you!
Intermediate-Advanced/Advanced
This level is for you who have a solid foundation in Balboa and have been dancing for a few years. We recommend that you have completed both beginner and intermediate courses and regularly dance and attend Balboa events.
You should feel comfortable with the fundamental patterns and techniques and have a good variety of moves in your repertoire. This level is aimed at dancers who are ready to challenge themselves further, refine their technique, and explore more advanced variations, musicality, and partner connection.
If you’re unsure whether this is the right level for you, don’t hesitate to ask us or someone whose judgment you trust. We’re happy to help you find the level where you’ll get the most out of the workshop!
