Swingum is a non-profit organisation which focuses on 1920's-30's swing dances. Swingum has built up a swing dance scene in Umeå with regular social dance occasions, including dances to live music, in both the spring and autumn semesters.

Swingum teaches Lindy hop, Authentic jazz and Balboa. Most semesters, Swingum offers two courses of weekly evening classes. For those who want to get it all fast, Swingum also arranges two intensive weekend courses per semester. Course levels for Lindy hop and Authentic jazz span from new beginners to intermediate. Balboa is currently taught at new beginners level.

Each semester, Swingum invites an internationally well-known swing dance couple as teachers for a weekend full of dance, fun, sweat, laughter, socializing and love of swing dancing!

As a non-profit organisation, Swingum is always looking for volunteers. Whatever you feel you could contribute, from making coffee to marketing, we would appreciate your help. Contact us if you would like to get involved!
